Young Sculpters - Girl Scouts!

I had a really neat experience I'd like to share with you all. Last night, I had the pleasure to introduce paperclay sculpting to Girl Scout Troop 51056 from Auburn, WA. One of the girls' mother is the leader and lives in my neighborhood, and during a dog-walking chat, and learning that I sculpt, albeit Halloween characters, she invited me over for a craft night so the girls could earn their ceramic badge. What an adorable bunch of kids and so eager to learn! We worked on a Folk Art bird project and they all did a great job and had fun. Isn't that what this is all about? I hope that I instilled some creativity and spirit of trying new things.
