Something Unique from Salem's Charms

By now you all know about my other Etsy store "Salem's Charms" right? If you want to check it out, just click on the store name and you'll go right there. Anyway, it's just all about jewelry; metal stamped, beads, and my new favorite, fabric cuffs!

I've been working on Salem's Charms for several months now, getting it up and running, trying to create as many pieces as I can while still painting and stitching for my first shop "By Way of Salem".  Yep, I've been busy! And I'm afraid through the holidays, my new jewelry biz has taken a back seat to BWOS while I've been filling orders for Christmas. Now that the season is over, I'm back at creating for Salem's Charms and have some really neat things in the works.

I wanted to share my newest fabric cuff with you. I just finished it and I love it! It's very raw. Lots of stitches and threads showing. Layers of fabrics are pieced together, hand stitched and embroidered and then topped off with my copper stamped tag that says "Kindred Spirit". Perfect for pairing with a sweater and jeans! Kind of has that "gypsy" feel don't you think?

Art. Grateful. Love.

Art. How I love doing my art. I love it even more when people buy it. Not for the money, it's never been about that, but because others love it and feel it's special too. That's an amazing feeling. Nothing to do with ego either. It's just that art for me comes from creating something heartfelt, from your soul, and if someone else feels it and wants to own it, that's a big deal for me.

I love writing my blog posts too and reading all the comments. I read each one and I appreciate all my followers. And I so enjoy interacting and visiting other artists blogs as well. It's a wonderful community to be a part of.

I love my By Way of Salem facebook page.  So many friends and so many talented artists who've taken me in, either as friends or into their groups. Thank you for that. It's been especially important this last year or so since moving to a new area and not having any friends or anyone here. I really look forward to "chatting" with my online friends I've made through my art.

I love my Etsy stores, both of them. I started my jewelry store recently, Salems Charms, which I enjoy making jewelry for and all the branding involved, as well as trying to market and promote. It's different kind of jewelry, not Halloween. Honestly, it's very hard to split the time between creating for both stores while also working full time and everything else I do, but I love it and I'm trying hard to make both a success.

BUT, By Way of Salem is my first baby and the one where my heart truly is. I LOVE my By Way of Salem art. I love it because it's fun art. It takes me to a place that's magic and silly, a place that doesn't exist in everyday life. I never get over people buying my art. Oh how I appreciate you! And I never get over when people seek me out to participate in one of their art shows because they love my work. That's so fantastic to me. So to all of you, thank you! Life is so full and wonderful!

More Pretties from Salems Charms!

This past Monday I was home from work and I made very good use of my time! I was at my jewelry table pounding away most of the day. LOL my poor doggies. Everytime I'd hit that steel block with the hammer, one of their legs would jerk. Well it's a loud hobby, what can I say?!

Anyway, I got several new necklaces finished and I wanted to show you. They're for sale now in my Etsy "Salems Charms" store, and up on Pinterest (my favorite browsing place in the whole WWW web world!), so take a peek!

Ok first, if I haven't shown you before, up at the top - that's my Salems Charm "Icon" or avatar as I call it. Shows my romantic side don't you think? And yes I know, the white words on the ivory lace aren't super stand-out-ish but I did that on purpose. I like the look, kind of soft.

I JUST got in some new letter stamps and rivets;  brass and copper and some script letters as well as basic, cause sometimes those letters can be hard to read.

And what do you think, do I need to start another blog just for Salem's Charms? I don't really want to since I like it here but thought I'd get some other opinions.... hmmmmmmm....

My Gypsy Soul necklace, yes that one!, the silver swirl with beads and the dragonfly, sold yesterday! I absolutely loved making it and now I must make more. Be back soon with more new stuff!

New Jewelry in Salem's Charms on Etsy!

I've just added a couple new items in my Salem's Charms store on Etsy and wanted to let you all know. Just click on the shop name to go to my store.

I'm really having a blast making these stamped metal jewelry pieces and have so many ideas and designs I want to do. So stay tuned! In the meantime, these are 2 of my latest necklaces; one is just in time for Halloween, or for us magikal gals, to wear everyday. The other is for us gypsy souls. You know who you are. Never quite settled, always dreaming of some faraway place....That one's for you!

Salem's Charms on Etsy

It's up, it's open!  My new Etsy store, "Salem's Charms" is now open for business. The past couple of weeks I've been busy trying to coordinate everything; taking photos, thinking of things to write about in my shop announcement and story, etc. I'm still working on my banner and avatar but I've got my design laid out so now all I need is time on Photoshop to put it together. It takes a lot of work to open a store, and time which I don't have a lot of. Whew!

Not that I'm a great photographer anyway, but I discovered after I posted my listings, I really don't like how the pictures turned out so I'm going to redo them. And of course I'm not very stocked up with listings, so be patient while I create and photograph more.

So why did I choose the name "Salem's Charms" you ask? I wanted to tie into By Way of Salem and not  be totally random, sort of an off-shoot of my current store, but without a lot of Halloween jewelry.

Salem's Charms is about rustic, romantic, gypsy, soulful, happy jewelry. Classic and pretty. Stamped metal, beads, fabric, clay, leather, ribbons and charms. A world of pretties!

Come on over anytime for a visit. I'm excited about this new adventure and hope you will be too!  See you soon ~ Jeannine

I Just HAVE to Share!

I was going to wait, but no, I'm not going to. I'm just really excited about something I've recently started and I just have to share with you!

Ok, so you know how I currently have my By Way of Salem store on Etsy? and this blog and Facebook page..well I'm embarking on a new creative adventure (yes, another one...). I've immersed myself into metal stamped jewelry (and other things) and I'm totally hooked! So...I'm opening up another Etsy store called SALEM'S CHARMS! I will of course have jewelry appropriate for Halloween, but I'm going to do lots of other specialties such as weddings, births, and my usual non-traditional items of course. Yes, ok, so there are a ton of other jewelry shops all over the place. That's fine..enough people in the world to share. Plus I'm going to add the By Way of Salem flair to each piece, so they'll be different and unique.

In addition to my metal jewelry, I'll also have beads, polymer (clay) beads and pieces, and who knows what else.

During this creative adventure, I recently discovered that I love wedding jewelry! I'm hoping to really jump into doing lots of special wedding pieces cause it's such a special day and I'd love to have a part in that. I can just envision some rustic necklaces for a barn wedding!

LOVE this one!

Of course I'll have my original By Way of Salem shop still open and I'll be painting and creating for it. I love Halloween too much to give that up! I just like to venture off the beaten path here and there. Keeps things interesting!

So stay tuned and I'll let you know when I'm all up and running. Thanks for staying my fans!
